Getting started with drawing review.
This quick-start covers the Design Compliance workflow: preparing a plan set, starting a review, and reading the resulting findings.
From one PDF to a reviewable finding.
The workflow accepts one PDF drawing set up to 200 MB. Results depend on the submitted revision and available drawing information.
- PrepareConfirm the set opens and includes the intended code summary and drawings.
- IdentifyAdd the project address when available and keep the revision clear.
- ReviewOpen safety and accessibility groups, then inspect individual criteria.
- ResolveRead the evidence and decide whether the next step is clarification or design review.
Prepare your file
Use one PDF containing the drawing set you want to review. The upload accepts PDF files up to 200 MB. Check that the file opens and that the code summary and relevant drawings are included in the intended revision.
- File format: PDF
- Upload size: up to 200 MB
- Review input: one drawing set per upload
Add the project address
Select the PDF in the plan-set upload panel. Enter the street address, city, and state when available. The review uses this supplied address for comparison with the address printed on the drawings; leaving it blank removes that comparison input.
Start the review
Submit the selected set and follow the processing status. The review reads the code summary and evaluates supported conditions using the available drawing information. Open the report when processing is complete.
Read the result groups
Review the safety and accessibility groups and open an individual criterion. The summary counts help you navigate the report, while the individual findings contain the information needed to assess a result.
- Pass: the evaluated condition meets the checked requirement.
- Fail: the evaluated condition does not meet the checked requirement.
- Insufficient info: the review could not establish enough information to decide.
- Not checked: no result is available for that criterion.
Inspect a finding
Read the provided value, allowed value, explanation, extracted information, and references when present. Some findings also include a page location and highlighted area. Use that location to inspect the original condition on the drawing; not every finding includes a highlight.
Resolve the next step
Discuss the result with the person responsible for the drawing. If information is missing, identify the note, dimension, or project detail needed to complete the review. If a conflict is reported, examine the requirement and source before determining the design response.
